Łotewska Akademia Kultury to instytucja założona w roku 1990, która realizuje program nauczania na poziomach studiów licencjackich, magisterskich, oraz doktoranckich. Centrum Badawcze oraz Centrum Działań Kreatywnych Akademii, jak również studenci i wykładowcy Akademii biorą udział w realizacji licznych badań naukowych i artystycznych. Główny cel Akademii to organizacja pracy na kierunkach: Nauki społeczne, Studia teatralne, Sztuki audiowizualne, Taniec współczesny, etc. Od 2009 roku Akademia posiada także własne Muzeum Teatru im. Eduarda Smilgisa, przekazane przez Muzeum Literatury i Muzyki oraz od 2010 Muzeum Filmu, kiedy to nastąpiła reorganizacja Narodowego Centrum
Filmowego w Rydze.
Latvian Academy of Culture is en institution of higher education founded in 1990. It realises accredited higher education study programmes at Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral levels. The Research Centre and the Creative Activity Centre of the Latvian Academy of Culture as well as students and lecturers of the Academy take part in the realisation of the scientific research and artistic creation. The main goal of the Academy is to administer studies in such fields as: the Arts and Social Sciences, Theatre Studies, Audiovisual Arts, Contemporary Dance, and others. Eduards Smiļģis Theatre Museum has been Latvian Academy’s structural unit since June 2, 2009, when it was handed over from the Literature and Music Museum. Riga Film Museum has been a Latvian Academy’s structural unit since January 1, 2010, when the National Film Centre had been reorganised.

Tytuł prezentacji, Nowi, opisuje studentów I roku szkolących się na przyszłych aktorów lalkarzy. Widzimy ich na początku drogi, zdobywających wiedzę i umiejętności, stawiających pierwsze kroki w tajemniczym świecie teatru lalek. W dwudziestominutowym pokazie zaprezentują ćwiczenia i etiudy, które stanowią rezultat eksperymentów wykorzystujących ich ciała i przedmioty, za pomocą których opowiadają proste historie.
The title of the presentation Freshmen stands for the 1st year students of Acting in Puppet Theatre who are at the beginning of their quest for knowledge and skills in the mysterious world of puppetry. In about 20 minutes they will share some of the exercises and etudes featuring their experiments in using body language and simple objects to create little stories.
